Gold Plating

Hey guys i know i haven't been on the site for a WHILE! It seems a lot has changed while i was gone but here's my question:

I was cleaning car and was wondering what i could use to clean my gold plated exhaust tips so the gold platting wouldn't come off?

I don't know about what cleaner to use.

try and use a small amount of mothers metal polish or any other motal polish for that matter and use it in an unseen hidden place like the bottom side of your tips.
