Dave5353 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I just noticed yesterday that my 2007 GX470 makes a low-frequency modulating noise when above 70 mph and when accelerating. It goes away when going down hills and when the speed drops below 65 mph. The modulating cycles at about 170 times per second. It sounds like a drive train issue (transmission, drive shaft, or rear end). Any thoughts?
TrevC Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Hi David...welcome to the Forum It sounds like it could be a wheel/hub bearing. Worth dropping into the garage for them to spin each wheel to hear which one is grumbling. Alternatively, it could be the propshaft centre bearing causing the noise...also,easy enough to check out. Let us know what you find Cheers Trevor
