Jovanny94
Hey guys im new to this. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little something about a parasitic draw in an is300. My 2002 is300 has one but the thing is idk how to detect where the draw is coming from. I recently put HIDs and new ballists like 3 weeks ago idk if that might be the problem. But i have to jump start the car every morning n then it dies over night. I got it checked at lexus parkplace and they say the alternator is fine and battery is fine as well please i could really use some help thanks guys! TrevC
Hi Jiovanny It does sound like you may have introduced a fault in the system by fitting HID lighting (aftermarket I assume?). Easiest way is to disconnect the HID units, once they have discharged (e.g. not shortly after they have been used, so preferably in the daytime) and see if the battery discharges overnight. If it doesn't then thats the problem Let us know how you get on with it Regards Trevor

Jovanny94
So i tried disconnecting the hid units to see if it would drain n it still would. I even tried buying a new battery cause it had a bad cell n i was hoping that was the issue but no. Any other possibilities about why or where the draw is coming from? TrevC
I think it is a case of pulling fuses individually until the draw disappears and then you can dig deeper once you know which system it controls...time consuming but cheapest way to diagnose
