jRingo
So, I just bought my sisters old (180k) 1998 ES300 to hold me over while I'm occasionally looking for an 05+. The seats are the most wore item (along with the stereo LCD). I came across an ES300 at the salvage yard the other day and got the stereo (and HVAC) for $15! I haven't hooked it up yet so I don't know if it's good. The seats in this ES300 were in much better shape than what's in my car. I asked the guy at the desk as I was leaving how much are seats? He said if you pull them from the yard, $45 each. The only thing is, they have side airbags. When did the ES300 get side air bags, 1999? I believe this is a 97-99 by the taillights and stereo. Can I install these into a 1998?
1990LS400
I thought side bags in the front seat backs were standard equipment on the 1998 ES300 - maybe the labels got torn off your current seats. Our 1998 Camry had them but they were an extra cost option on the Camry.
pj8708
One item that would concern me is the accurate placement of the air bags on the drivers side pillar. Is there a factory ready install place on the pillar? Jim's point makes me wonder if there is an install spot on all the 1990's ES, but are the mounting spots in the same place from one model year to another.
