13IS250C Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Thanks Steve. Not bad for 17 years old. 99% original except for my modifications.
Judow Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 To me luxury is all about how I feel when I park myself into the vehicle. I love my SC430 and it feels like luxury to me, the ride is hard but then it is a sports car. Everything else speaks of luxury. I had a backup camera installed to complete it not to mention how much visibility I have now. I also have a '96 Jaguar XJS 2+2 convertible and that recognizing its age is also a luxury vehicle with a soft ride. So to answer what is a luxury vehicle, to me it's all about the 'feel.'
LEX-SV Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Certainly some super examples of luxury cars being discussed here (even those that are quite sporty, because most are still well-equipped with luxury car amenities, etc). Here's another slant on the topic, which is just the opposite. Or what makes a mediocre common car feel so mediocre. A retired relative was checking out our Mercedes C250 and asked a lot of questions about it and sat in it for about 10 minutes checking out the usual lux stuff (moonroof, nav, Harmon Kardon audio, power everything, a thick flat bottom steering wheel with lots of controls, sport seats with endless adjustments and memory, paddle shifters, etc.), so I was curious as to his interest in the car. He mentioned his wife's 2008ish Ford Focus and how every aspect of it felt so cheap, including the driving experience. He was definitely interested in upgrading to get the lux car experience (and feel) which I found interesting. 1
LEX-SV Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Another MB loaner for weekend, 2014 C250 well equipped (other than 17" wheels). Plan to put about 300 miles on it over weekend.
