"brake" Light On Dash Keeps Flickering On And Off

I own a 1999 lexus rx300 and the "BRAKE" light flickers on and off at random times real quick. what could be causing this?

Probably the third brakelight in the back on the hatch back....The bulb can become intermitant.

Is that the parking brake light?

If so, there is a small switch at the top of the parking brake pedal that could be going bad or be out of alignment.
