sycraft
trying to solve a problem, have a code for the ocv solenoid, pulled and replaced as it was easy. Also decided to check and clean the ocv filters, front one was fine, no sludge and wet, rear was was completely dry, no oil has been going through there for some time. Anyone hear of this. It runs fine and oil is changed routinely. after valve was replaced, ran for a while and code returned. pulled filter again, still dry as a bone.. lenore
You could have sludge on rear bank.....Have you been using oil between changes.?
sycraft
No sludge at all, even pulled the rear cover and looked, clean as a whistle....1 owner, all oil changes done every 3-4k miles
lenore
Something is not right if it is dry. That valve controls the Variable timing on the rear cam shaft. As the pressure is controlled it changes the timing on the cam. Maybe the passage is clogged.
