vikra007 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Hi All, What is the recommended interval for the flush? Any DIY guides out there? What parts do we need? I saw the pink fluid in the reservoir. I bought the red fluid from the dealer. Can I dilute with water to get the same pink fluid? Also, what washer we need for the rx400h? Any one know about power steering fluid reservoir in these cars? I could not find it. Thanks in advance.
vikra007 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Answering myself :) Looks like coolant flush is due at 100K. Any idea about power steering?
RX400h Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 No power steering fluid - electric steering doesn't require any fluid. I am almost certain that my manual specifies a coolant change at 90,000 miles.
maseace Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Keep in mind the hybrid system (inverter) has a separate coolant loop from the gas engine. The one in the center behind the radiator is for the engine, and the one on the driver side under the plastic cover is for the inverter. So there are 2 systems to drain and refill. The gas engine uses 10.9 qts, and the inverter uses 3.6 qts. You should use the specified Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) that is pre-diluted to 50/50.
