Consumption In Winter

Hello everybody, this is my first winter with my 2007 RX400h - so maybe my question is stupid, but I want to give it a chance before I´ll go to the dealer. Simply - as temperature went down to 7°C or bellow, consumption has increased from usual 9 litres to 11-12 litres/100km. I noticed that although the battery is around 75% charged, the gas engine turns on much more often than times before. Somebody told me that in cold times the system tries to keep the engine warm and that´s why. So I drive through the city with full battery on gas...no error message at the board or display. Did you experience the same?

Totally normal. All hybrids do this.

The good news is that it'll never drop to a non-hybrid level, even during cold Winter months.
