Gx470 Taillight Bulb Replacement

I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to remove the driver side taillight assembly to replace a burnt out bulb. It shouldn't be this difficult i know but i can't figure out the release mechanism after removing the two bolts in the door jam. Any comments or pictures would be greatly appreciated!

2 clips opposite the bolts, the assembly needs to come straight back and the clips are tight. I used a plastic putty knife (avoid marking the paint) to carefully pry it back until the clips released
