louisindallas Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 My 1st post from a new member: I have a 2007 LS 460, 70K miles. Records indicate all maintenance has been performed. My indy shop changed my oil using synthetic Mobil 1 0W20 (not an indictment just fact) and WIX filter. Car had a rough idle, steering wheel shakes. Drove ok but rough idle. After 50 miles or less of driving I took car in to Jiffy lube place and had 5W20 conventional oil and new filter put in. Rough idle went away - instantly. Research shows a recall in 2010 to replace valve springs and was verbally told it was done but records at lexus.com show otherwise. Thoughts???
UCF3 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Generally if the dealer did the recall and they can show it, it's probably been done already. I believe 0w20 and 5w20 is recommended by Lexus for your car so something tells me your indy might have had a something loose causing the shaking. Perhaps a loose spark plug wire.
louisindallas Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Loose spark plus wire or other issue would have remained no matter what oil was in the car. Oil level was OK for both oil changes.
