MISSION VEIJO LS400 OWNER Posted December 15, 2012 Share Posted December 15, 2012 This might be a stupid question, but is there any wa I can repair the clear coat peeling on the roof. hood, and trunk lid wthout having it repainted, by the way the car has 269,000 miles and purrs like a kitten. 1990LS400 Posted December 16, 2012 Share Posted December 16, 2012 Well sure. The clear coat can be removed and reapplied - sometimes after applying additional color coat. This was just done on several undamaged panels of my 00 LS when other adjoining panels were replaced and/or repainted. The process is commonly called "blending". In my case, this was a part of a nearly $7,000 repair. It's not going to be cheap as a standalone job -- probabaly $2,000+. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
