I have a SC400 1995 With 154,000 miles. Now when I turn the AC on, it gives a big thrust of power to the engine, now if I dont have my foot completely on the brake and I turn on the Ac I can actually feel the car thrust forward, and if I was close enough I would actualy hit the car in front of me if I was not careful. Should I be concerend or is this noraml for this car? THANKS FOR THE HELP

Mine does that too. I just assume that its the ECU telling the engine to idle higher so the compressor will work when youre not driving

It shouldn;t eb a large jerk in power as there is an idle up cuircit for the engine to meet the demand on the a/c. How good does your a/c system work . Maybe it is low on regrigerant and use alot less power trying to cmopress it.
