cdamania Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 I have a SC400 1995 With 154,000 miles. Now when I turn the AC on, it gives a big thrust of power to the engine, now if I dont have my foot completely on the brake and I turn on the Ac I can actually feel the car thrust forward, and if I was close enough I would actualy hit the car in front of me if I was not careful. Should I be concerend or is this noraml for this car? THANKS FOR THE HELP
bean_8044 Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 Mine does that too. I just assume that its the ECU telling the engine to idle higher so the compressor will work when youre not driving
SKperformance Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 It shouldn;t eb a large jerk in power as there is an idle up cuircit for the engine to meet the demand on the a/c. How good does your a/c system work . Maybe it is low on regrigerant and use alot less power trying to cmopress it.
