field marshall
Purchased this 5 weeks ago,has 11k miles. The dealers said it is normal for this model to have excessive brake pedal travel. I was told The "mushy" feel cannot be corrected. The pedal is very close to the floorboard, when depressed, & is scary in judging stopping distance with ease. Dealer said other owners have stated this feedback... I asked to have the brakes bled, the unresponsiveness still exists. There may be a retrofit adjuster kit since others have complained. Anyone know of an engineering contact at Lexus?
LEXIRX330
Welcome to LOC! I sent you a PM back but in case you didn't get it here it is... Trust me I came from driving a X5 and That has touchy brakes, the GX for the longest time I caught myself rolling since I wasn't used to pushing so hard on the brakes. They defiantly seem to be mushy as you say but I have gotten used to it. Best of luck.

Anyone know of an engineering contact at Lexus? Hi Field Marahall and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. From the data I retrieved from our search data base, it apppears your not alone. Their seems to be no lack of complaints regarding the issues you mentioned on the recent model GX. Here is a link to those threads in the search base or you to use. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search§ion=search&do=search&fromsearch=1 Go to "Lexus.com" and either e-mail or call them about them about your problem. Telll them you want to bump up your problem to the area tech field rep and that your also going to talk with your dealers General Manager, an important step. I know the Head lights can be adjuusted , I had mine realinged. Let us know what comes up. Paul
