Want To Auto Lock After Hatch Closes

When I press a button on the hatch to close the hatch, it closes pretty slow... Then I have to verify that it is closed then lock on my remote control. I would like to auto lock when the hatch is closed. Is it possible?

I decided to press the button for long time (2-3 seconds) then the light blinks then hatch closes, but it does not lock or do anything special. Is it doing something? Does it suppose to auto lock but mine is broken?

After the hatch closes press the round little bump to the right of the other button on the hatch. I never bother to take out my key.

Per owners manual, there is two buttons on the hatch, left button opens hatch, right button locks hatch.
