Lexus Es 300 Stops All Of Sudden

My 1999 Lexus ES 300 stops all of sudden while driving. This usually happens in stop and go traffic or at traffic light. Also, the check engine light turns on. After the re-start, Check Engine Light goes away and car runs smooth. Any thoughts what is causing the car to stop all of sudden?

I had the same problem w/ my ES...

The problem was the idle being set to low.

Normal rpm is set at around 1500 but mine was bottoming out under 0. Especially when I slowed down from braking.

When I started my car my rpm would barely jump.

It's a really simple fix..

Just as yur Mechanic to turn yur idle control up.

Yu can actually do it yourself no problem.

Could be a dirty IACV valve, but first thing is to have the codes read. They should be stored in computer.
