Norboo Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 I know I posted on here before but that was a life time ago. I bought a 24” boat and with trailer total dry weight of 4800LBS. I have the bumper hitch rated at 5000LBS. I read that I cannot use Weight Distribution since the trailer has serge brakes. I plan on buying an after market hitch... What are my options here? I can’t believe this big gas sucking SUV is so whippy that much smaller SUV can trailer much higher weight. Just for this reason alone, I will not be buying anothher LX
1990LS400 Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 GVWR on my SUV is 6860 What does that mean? Page 293 of your owners manual: The gross vehicle weight must not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) indicated on the Certification Label. The gross vehicle weight is the sum weight of the unloaded vehicle, driver, passengers, luggage, hitch and trailer tongue load. It also includes the weight of any special equipment installed on your vehicle.
