  1. My LX 470 did lot better on gas. Maybe it had lager tank. But I find myself always out of gas on my LX 570.
  2. Undo the plastic casing by slowly wiggling it loose. They are all clipped on. Don’t force it too much, they will come off. Put the seat up on so it locks onto the wall. This way, when you unscrew everything, seat won’t fall or move and damaging anything or falling on you. Unscrew and remove the 4, 14mm screws. Make sure you have support before you release the seat by lowering it just a little so it will unhook from the wall mount. Unplug the wiring harness and remove the seat. I will be back another time to show you how I covered up all the areas. Very simple and cheap. No need to cover the whole back compartment. Just parts of it and you can use the original cargo mat to cover the rest.
  3. While we're on the subject, what do you use to wash your car and type of wax?
  4. What do you use to clean and condition your leather and interior?
  5. Took my car to the dealer because they didn’t screw on the drain plug in right and it was leaking oil. Today they called and said someone hit my car and they will fix it but it will take a week. What are my options?
  6. What does this mean exactly? I saw one LX 570 that was certified and it looked great with like new tires, detailed and runs smoothly. Today I saw another that needed major cleaning, runs like crap, almost bald tired and in dire need of a brakes. Manager says it is Lexus Certified. I always thought when Lexus put their Lexus pre-owned certified, it was trust worthy and the car is in great shape. Up till today, I held Lexus in high regards, now I see them as sleazy used cars salesmen.
  7. Hello Over the last few days, I have been surfing the net and talking to few dealers. Seems they all say the same thing. Their cars are priced at rock bottom price and there isn’t room to move. Most 2010 I saw had 10K to 30K miles on them and most are priced around $67K. What do you think is a good deal? Thank you.
  8. GVWR on my SUV is 6860 What does that mean?
  9. I know I posted on here before but that was a life time ago. I bought a 24” boat and with trailer total dry weight of 4800LBS. I have the bumper hitch rated at 5000LBS. I read that I cannot use Weight Distribution since the trailer has serge brakes. I plan on buying an after market hitch... What are my options here? I can’t believe this big gas sucking SUV is so whippy that much smaller SUV can trailer much higher weight. Just for this reason alone, I will not be buying anothher LX
  10. How do you mount your phone on your LX 470? Does anyone have iPhone and XM on their nav system for 2004 model?
  11. Hello I am looking for a better way to hear music via my iphone in my LX 470 (2004). I hate the FM adaptor and doesn’t work that well. Thanks

  13. How do they get awards for best service, quality service etc…they never call me after for feedback.
  14. I only know Chantilly Repair Center. Omar did a great job on my timing belt. If you find a better place/prie, post it and share. :)
  15. Tire is in the way and you will need to cut any extension or the bike rack. As for extensions, it reduces tongue weight by half and bike will rattle. I took a look at the rack and by cutting the rack, hole for the pin will be too close to the end of the rack. I fear it might not hold up in the long run. (less than ½ inch) I have a high price carbon fiber bike I would not want to see her bouncing around on the rack with extension. Why in the world would Lexus make such a hitch without proper adaptor?
  16. If only life was so simple... According to Thule, all their trailer htich will not work with LX 470, 2004. Tire is in the way for the pin to fit and they do not support/recoomand using extenders. I also talked to Lexus, there is no other option so it seems. *sigh* Hello, If you have the hitch thats integrated in the bumper, then you're going to have to cut the Thule down until it does fit. If its the attatchment type of hitch and its "under" the bumper, then it should fit just fine. The problem is that the hitches integrated into the bumpers are to close to the spare tire causing anything longer than the hitch, to hit the spare. I had this same problem and had to actually cut down the Thule a bit so it wouldnt hit the spare tire anymore. I've had this for several years now with endless amounts of bikes hitched up, and its a 4 bike rack, so it does tend to get heavier than most, and i havent had any problems at all. Good luck! EWOK Yes, it is the stock hitch in the bumper. What did you use to cut the Thule with? Simple hacksaw or grinder of sort? ALso, do you know what size star wrench I need for the star 4 bolts for the hitch? Thanks.

  18. Hello I have LX 470, 2004 and have the bail mount that came with the adaptor for the trailer hitch. However, when I tried to mount my Thule T2 to the hitch, there is no place to fit the pin. Is there an extender/adaptor for bike rack? Thank you
  19. What is the correct tire pressure for LX470? I have Michelin Latitude Tour HP 275/60/18 Thank you
  20. They don't make the Michelin Pilot LTX anymore. Any reviews on Michelin Latitude Tour HP?
  21. What type of tires are good for smooth ride? I do not off road and live where we have 4 seasons. Washington DC area. Thank you.
  22. I have 2004 model that came with Bluetooth and I have the volume all the way up, but can’t hear that well. Is there any way to increase the volume more? Thank you
  23. It was overwhelming at first. I looked the dash over and did not know where to start. I took a thin butter knife and worked my way around very slowly and cautiously. Took me about 20 minutes to get the all the pieces out. Locating and cutting wires were simple enough. I replaced everything and tested the DVD; everything seems to work just fine. Now, did I void the warranty? Am I screwed down the line if Nav system goes haywire?
