2ton Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Both myself and another 2004 LS430 owner have had tire issues with Dunlop Lexus (OEM) tires. Mine had a front right tire imbalance with a broken cord, a back rear left showing metal cord on the inside. All tires still had usable tread, however, with @40K miles. No alignment problems ever. Is the Michelin MXV4 the best replacement? (17" rim).
landar Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Got me to thinking of the joke "Dunlop disease" (spare tire around the waist ^_^ ). Anyway, I never really cared for Dunlops. Seemed to be the proverbial "you get what you pay for". Yes, the Michelins are far superior, IMO.
SRK Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 " Ma gut done lopped over ma belt" as I recall. Haven't heard that one in years. Used to be it wasn't true.... I second Landar - Michelins are the way to go. I've never liked Dunlops.
SW03ES Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Dunlops are one of those hit or miss brands, and they've had a lot of financial problems over the last few years, changing ownership, etc. The Michelins are MUCH better tires.
