bobgnt
I have a 2008 IS250 AWD. I am curious if what I am seeing is normal/expected behavior or it is something I should have checked. I notice that in the morning as I hit the highway (I live less than two miles from the on ramp), it is slow to shift into 6th gear. I even tried to manually shift into 6th using the triptronic but could not. The shift indicator on the dash that shows when you are in the triptronic mode showed 6th but the display above showed 5th. My rpms reflected the lower gear as well. It eventually shifts after a few minutes on the highway. I cannot honestly say if this occurs in the summer as well. Could this be due to the cold temps? It does not seem to have any issues getting to 5th. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks
jgr7
Yes it needs to be up to a certain temp before 6th gear is available.
LEXIRX330
It is normal...soon as it is warmed up it will shift in to 6th.
clubfoot
By the time the temp gauge is past the first four bars it should be up to temp and shift.
