We just bought our 1st Lexus, a 2009 ES 350. Love it.

Has Nav unit that reverts to map view after about 30(?) seconds after being on Audio screen.

How can we keep it on Audio screen rather than having it go back to map?

Thanks

yip, made me nuts when I first got mine

turns out there is a setting to just leave the screen where you put it..audio, climate, whatever

been posted here a few times, but take a look..if you cant find the setting, just reply, and I will get the details again

Rob,

Found your esponse in "New to Board" post, Feb. 2011:

setup->general->auto Screen change........turn it off, the default setting is on

I'll try it. Of course I need to find the Setup menu first.

Thanks

Hi Stan,

I also have 2009 ES350 with nav. love the car. On the left of the nav. screen hit the INFO button and a screen will come up where you can turn that feature on or off. Good luck..

I got it to work, although different in the 2009 model (from Rob's post):

Info button (on dash) >> screen Setting (on screen) >> Auto transition to Nav? Select No

ok, glad to hear you got found the setting

not sure why the default is to return to the map..seems the majority would rather not have it that way

but maybe that is just the perception cause you only hear from people here who obv do not like the default

Yeah I like to leave it on the map...

yip, they think these things out and research them for sure..you were probably part of the focus group, lol

Funny thing is my 2003 ES was set by default not to switch back to the map, so at some point between 2003 and 2010 they changed direction...
