Rookie Posted March 9, 2004 Share Posted March 9, 2004 Joseph, You may have already got the answer to this on another site that had a similar post around the same time, but the word is that if you overfill your gas tank, you can saturate the charcoal canister resulting in a heavy fuel smell. Apparently once the damage is done, there is no real fix for this problem besides replacing the pricy charcoal canister. Hope this helps.
