arsin21 Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 can you put the supra tt 6spd on a 1jz motor?
jzz30 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 i assume so because the bottom end is almost the same just a bit shorter in hight
jzz30 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 oh and one more thing 1jz owners opt for a 2jz bottom end so the trans definitely fits
bean_8044 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Youre talkin aboot the getrag 6-speed, right? The one that aboot $2k? It was designed for the 2jz, as was the A341? auto trans which fits the 1jz...so A=B=C
AWJ Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 It should match up. But the 1jz runs a r154 wich is touted as perfectly capable. Just get the motor with that tranny and rock it. You'll probably pay more for the getrag.
bean_8044 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I know on Okinawa the R154 is like seeing a tall japanese person. It just doesnt happen. You can get em, but its around 900 while the Nissan trans is around 300. Thats just for five speed too. The Aussies are always braggin about bein able to get the 6s though
arsin21 Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 so the r154 is the tranny that the 1j comes with ? correct. I heard it hard to find it manual so i was wondering what other 5spd or 6spd can fit with out to many modds.
bean_8044 Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 To my knowledge, the R154 is the only manual offered for the 1JZs life span, but its a JZ so the 2jzs trannies should bolt up to it
