hybridamp Posted September 23, 2011 Share Posted September 23, 2011 I'm looking for a hitch to install on my '09 GX470 capable of only 500lbs (hitch hauler to put my generator on). I am interested in the OEM "Pintle" Hitch that is on Sewell's website since it seems simple (Really Class IV?)and well concealed with the factory trim cover: http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Towing/GX470-2009/4229.html Has anyone installed this hitch? I'm curious if the entire bumper cover has to be dropped/removed to access the front bolts...? The bottom bolts seem simple enough since I seem to have a factory place there already. Thanks. xxstewart Posted October 1, 2011 Share Posted October 1, 2011 I have a standard Class III factory installed hitch on my 08 GX. Why do you want to install this pintle hitch instead of a standard frame mount? I doubt this pintle hitch is really "Class IV" (7500 lb) rated.
