97 Lexus Ls400 Sub Amp Location

I have checked my amp under the seat, and that runs all the door speakers. That amp is good. There has to be a 2nd more powerful amp for the sub in the trunk. Does anyone know where the trunk amp is on a 1997 LS400?

The amplifier under the front passenger seat in my 2000 LS400 drives all the speakers including the sub. I am guessing it is the same in your 97 LS.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. Front and rear speakers have plenty of punch but the sub woofer is very weak. I replaced it with a much better kicker sub from another lexus post hoping the better sub woofer would sound better, but the amp is just not putting out enough juice to push it strong enough to get any bass.

Thanks for your response. I had hoped there was another amp in the trunk that may have been blown and easily replaced.

Can't be sure but the sub amp may be in the trunk located near to the fuel tank, remove the trim at the rear of the trunk and have a look by tracing the sub speaker wires back to the amp.
