Ron6437
I have a 2006 GS 300 and would like to know if it's easy to change out the steering wheel with a 2006 or newer LS? Why you ask? Because I like to drive with my hand in the six o'clock position and as you know the design of the GS 300 steering wheel does not allow me to do so\the LS does. cduluk
Unfortunately not... :( The steering wheel itself could be installed, but the controls for the radio, bluetooth and display would not work as the plugs are quite different. With a little wiring you could get it to work but it would take a lot of trial and error. And you'd need the LS460 airbag as well. But i do believe it would work with the plugs already on the GS. How good are you at wiring and such? If you're able to trace each wire for the controls you "might" be able to get it to work... Also consider wood color and grain, as i don't believe they'd match perfectly...
Ron6437
Thanks for the reply and for pointing out some things I had not considered. I guess I will have to live with my GS 300 steering wheel.
kyled
Well depending on how much you're willing to pay, you could ask your Lexus dealership. It never hurts to get a price! But yes, it sounds like this is not a DIY project.
cduluk
Your lexus dealer won't have a single clue how to do that...
