bobstoc Posted January 5, 2011 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Does anyone know if the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors from a 2004 LS430 wheel (17") will fit a 2006 SC430 wheel (18")? Tire Rack told me the SC430 wheels require a specific TPMS for each wheel however, i suspect this is because the SC430 reads each tire for a display of pressure? curiousB Posted January 5, 2011 Share Posted January 5, 2011 There is no tire pressure sensor on the '04 LS430. The car determines tire pressure by comparing the tire revolutions in the ECU. If over a period of time one tire is turning more than the others it is assumed to be low and the warning goes off. There are no electronics in the tire. I think they changed this in 2005 and beyond.
