The Pir@te Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I noticed in the recent couple of months that when I shift the gear from P to R, N & D as usual; the indicator (lights) on the dashboard flashes as if the gear stick is not firmly stuck in to the current shift and it decreases soon as the car is warm up Actually when I am in total stop, I usually don't put the shift into N but I rather keep my foot on the Brakes until I start moving again & in that position I notice my dashboard having the rpm going up & down the indicator lights of the gear blinking as usual which usually SHOULD only happen directly before shifting from P -> R -> N -> D. I suspect something under the gear stick that needs to be replaced, any ideas?
steve2006 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 It could be the selector switch on the shift playing up,maybe dirty intermittent contacts try some switch cleaner lube type spray on it
The Pir@te Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 How can reach this switch- an illustration would be helpful in this case...
landar Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Is this the same issue you posted on the Club Lexus LS400 forum? -> http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/542509-gear-indicator-flashing.html We are talking an '05 LS430 here, right?
