01RX300 Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Does anyone know the OEM color temperature of the HID bulbs? Is it the same on all Lexus? I heard the OEM color is 4100k but alot of people are using 6000k and 8000k. Is there any one that's better? I want that nice bright blue/white that the factory Lexus HIDs have. Can anyone recommend a good HID conversion kit?
SW03ES Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 4100k ;) 4100k is the optimum light output, meaning that the most light is being projected at 4100k. People buy higher temperatures because they're "purpler" in appearance but in reality they put out less usable light and the light they do put out isn't as natural. You get up to 8000k and above they actually paint the glass. Anything higher than 4100k or 4300k (brands, one brand comes in 4100k one in 4300k) is simply asthetic.
01RX300 Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 B) Thanks SW03ES for the information. Is 4100k the OEM color temperature that came on a 2001 RX300? Where would you find a good place with a good price for this type of kit?
