morse Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 I am considering a used LS430 and am unsure whether the much talked about Mark Levinson system is included in all LS430 or is it an option ? If it is an option how do you tell whether you have the standard system or the Levinson ? I did not see a Levinson name plate on the radio so without a reference car to compare it to was unsure. The list of options did not specifically list Mark Levinson.... Thanks for any assistance.... Morse
curiousB Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 There is lettering on the dash unit saying it is a ML system if it is. Otherwise it is the stock Pioneer system.
morse Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 The unit will take 6 cd's in the dash. Does this help in determining if it is the Pioneer or the Levinson ? I am not able to look at the car right now so am going on what I do know....
steve2006 Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Hi and welcome to the LOC, As far as I know Levinson systems were a standard fit in the LS430 Have a look at the link below for the full specifications http://www.toyoland.com/lexus/ls430.html

No, you are on an island next to another continent. Lexus cars sold in the U.K. and other countries often had standard equipment that was not standard in the U.S ... and sometimes vice versa. ML was not standard equipment on the U.S. spec LS430. Here, for example, are specs on the US Lexus website for the 05 LS430: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2005/2005LSspecs.pdf If it doesn't say Mark Levinson on the head unit, it isn't.
