PlutoTKH Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 The factory alarm in my 2002 IS300 goes of randomly 1-2 times per week. Horn and flashers. No correlation to temperature, humidity, time parked, etc. I tried locking it with the key (vs. remote), but it still happens. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Would the computer store a code ? Thanks !
smooth1 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 It usually turns out to be the hood latch sensor. I know your out of warrentee but your probably going to have to take it in and have them use the Toyota scan. The alarm on these cars are tied into the ECU. They can scan and diagnose which sensor is out in about 10 minutes.
PlutoTKH Posted April 24, 2011 Author Posted April 24, 2011 I took the latch apart and cleaned/lubed everything as much as possible. It's been 6 months now, and the alarm has only gone off twice since. Much improved - Thanks !
