jack g
Has anyone installed hub spacers to add a couple of inches to the vehicle's track? I see they readily available and relatively low cost. Are they stressfulon the axles or wheel assemblys? Thanks
Joe P.
Has anyone installed hub spacers to add a couple of inches to the vehicle's track? I see they readily available and relatively low cost. Are they stressfulon the axles or wheel assemblys? Thanks I've had 1.5" billet spacers on my '04 LX470 for 6 yrs and 140k miles. Absolutely love it. Brings the tires out just barely poking past the fenders. Handling, cornering is better too. I don't know if its placebo effect, but when I removed them for a couple days, the car didn't feel as stable. They went right back on. Had them custom made by Fred Goeske (WheelAdapters.com). They were not the cheapest, but the quality and tolerance are well built and designed. I also had it made hubcentric AND wheel-centric. No wobbles or vibrations. Tows fine too. I'd REALLY beware of the cheap ebay spacers. I wasted my money on them for my other cars and learned my lesson. Fred is the guy to call. (BTW, I have wheel spacers on several cars, and never ever had any issues. Only a great stance!) -Joe
