clickart
I have a rx400h with 40k miles on it and in the last 2-3 oil changes, I have noticed that there are some tiny yellow particles in old oil. It felt like small tiny crushed rocks. Anybody has the same problem?
RX400h
I change the oil, myself but have never noticed this. However, I will scrutinize the oil more closely when I change the oil next month. If you really wish to know exactly what is in your oil, you can send it out for an oil analysis. Before that, here is a quick and dirty way to analyze used oil: http://members.themotoroilevaluator.com/index.php?id=

pauljcl
YOu know any good place to send out for an analysis? I once had a problem with an MB, in which I used Castrol oil. Castrol performed an oil analysis free of charge. Maybe, in addition to the labs. mentioned elsewhere on this and other forums (usually in connection with the discussions about dino vs. synthetic oil), you could just call the manufacturer of your oil, and ask their opinion? Good luck!
