My sister has a 95 SC400 had transmission slippage problem. She took it to the Riverside CA Lexus dealer. It has been there a week. They told her they can't fix it. She should maybe do a cash for clunkers and maybe get $4500 for it. Aside from the fact that "Cash for Clunkers" is long gone. Are they that stupid? What is up with a transmission problem a dealer can't fix. Did Lexus run out of qualified transmission mechanics? Anyway I am searching for an alternative. Like a recommended transmission repair place in the area. Or any other helpful information.

Take it to a qualified shop and get the tranny flushed and see if that helps it any. Make sure you use the proper fluid b/c if you don't you can damage the tranny. Is there a check engine light on? How many miles are on this car?

Thanks The car has about 185K miles and I don't think the check engine light was on.
