mello Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I have a 93 LS 400. My cig lighter fuse keeps blowing . I wish to remove the front ash tray assembly to inspect. I have removed console wood cover. I do not see any screws to remove. I tried gently prying wood around ash tray . Entire assembly has moved out about 1/4 inch on one side. I am afraid to pry more -fear of damage. Can anyone help me with instructions for proper removal of ash try assembly? I am new to posting but wish to update BELOW Thank you very much-I removed ash tray easily with your help. Found hot and ground touching in cig lighter enclosure and fixed this. Thank you so much for taking the time to help Sincerely Richard Sincerely Richard
1990LS400 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 This tutorial shows how to remove the ashtray on a 90-94 LS400: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/headunit.html Does the car happen to have any add-on devices hardwired into the cig lighter circuit that could be overloading the circuit and blowing the fuse?
steve2006 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 There have been a few cases where a coin ( a dime if I remember correctly) had fallen into the cigar lighter causing the fuse to blow, might be worth checking.
