What Type Of Ignition System Does Is300 Use?/for New Tach

Hi guys

My name is Yeonho, I am looking for some information to install digital tach on my 2001 IS300

I found IS300 does not have distributor so I can't just use any type of tach

So if anybody have done this job before then please let me know

what type of tach I need, where can I buy that and how to install it

Is there a problem with the stock tach?

I had an autometer digital tach hooked up once, but ended up trashing it after some of the LED banks in the tach went out. I would recommend an analog tach if you want to add one with a shift light. They are pretty neat. I hooked up the 'tach pulse' wire from the gauge to the diagnostic plug underneath the driverside dash to get the signal. I believe it's pin #14.
