pauljcl
Need help with determining the problem witht hte trunk. It appears like these little shock like tubes are not working. The rear hatch struts usually have a longer life than 6 years - mine (on the '99 RX) lasted nine years. You can get them on-line: (see: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=0#entry330684) the forum member blk_on_blk found the best place to buy them and also had a very clear 'how-to' guide gor the RX300. Good luck!
Rick-SC430
Need help with determining the problem witht hte trunk. It appears like these little shock like tubes are not working. The lift cylinders wen bad on my 4SC430 after 5 years and low usage. The dealer wanted ~$400 to replace them. I bought OEM replacements from Sewell Lexus in Dallas online at http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/parts_det...44317&all=Y They cost $200 and took 2 minutes to replace. Just pop the ring clip holding the old one on and push the new one onto the stud.
