Oil On The Alternator

Had change the alternator on my 96 Ls400 , oil was all over it , any suggestions as to where it could be coming from ?

My guest will be that the power steering fluid is leaking onto the alternator......just like it happens often on many LS400 - first generation- I know that's what it was happening in my 90 LS400 and what I did was add Lucas Transmission Fluid Stop Leak to the Power Steering Reservoir and that seemed to stop the leak for now.

Leaking PS Pump. This is a common problem with these cars. PS Fluid breaks down the brushes in the alternator causing it to fail. You need to fix the leak or you'll need another alternator. Not sure of the effectiveness of magic potions to fix the PS Pump leak. Probably requires a rebuilt PS Pump with new seals.
