Remote Keys And Chip

Recommended Posts

Just received new master keys from sewell for my 1993 lexus gs 300 and a little chip card also. Keys start vehicle and work fine except reomote but dont lock and unlock the doors. I got this ittle chip card with my keys and was wondering if this thing needed to be installed in the vehicle for the remote to work. I've already checked the forums and tried everything on here short of going to the dealer. My questions is do anyone know where I'm suppose to install this chip at? I've looked around the car and haven't been able to figure this out. Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

Based on this diagram, it appears that the keyless entry receiver is on the passenger side of the trunk: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1993_LEXU...EPQFA_8420.html

Be sure to seat the ROM chip securely. I had problems with the keyless entry of my 90 LS for years due to a mechanic not properly seating the chip -- I didn't know what the problem was until I sold the car and the new owner figured it out.
