dpeck
I have unbolted my alternator and removed wires I am trying to remove it from the bottom it keeps getting stuck at the radiator outlet spout. I have removed radiator hose cannot figure out how to manipulate it ot of the car can anyone help me with this? I have layed on my back for numerous hours trying to get it out of the vehicle. Do I need to disconnect transmission lines or remove radiator to get it out?
tansupplyman
as I recall, you need to unbolt the transmission line holder from the ft. rt. lower part of the block and pull them out of the way. the alt WILL pull out toward the front. tansupplyman
again--you do not need to undo the transmission lines or the radiator hose--just pull the trans lines toward the rt. once the fastener is loose.

mjrav
I had to replace mine two years ago. I remember it was a tight squeeze and the alternator had to be at just the right angle to fit. Almost a Chineese puzzle but it went.
