Lexus Rookie
AzHotLS or anyone else out there, is the spiral cable in the steering wheel or the steering column? I found a junkyard that has these both available, and I hope that I only have to buy one of them. Thanks alot.
AzHotLS
Yep, I'm here....... it's on the column. You don't have to buy the whole column, do you? Ask them if they'll sell it separately. Basic removal steps, as shown in the links of your other thread, are: 1) remove airbag (two torx screws and cable connector to front side of spiral cable assembly) , 2) remove steering wheel (17mm socket wrench then steering wheel puller), 3) unscrew spiral cable assembly with Phillips screw driver then disconnect the cable connector to the column. Done. But, before you go through the trouble of removing it, bring a meter or other device to check continuity with you, to verify all leads have continuity from the front to back connector pins. Lexus Rookie
Thanks for having the patience to deal with a rookie... I think I can make this happen and keep the Lexus technicians idle a little while longer. I'm out!
