NoMorePinkPanther Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 my car got hit by a plow this winter on the streets in boston. The damage is done right about the driver's side rear wheel. I've brought it to 3 shops and the estimates range from $1200 to $580. The $580 is from a local Maaco shop in Brockton, MA. I'm nervous to use Maaco as I've heard they are low budget auto painters. Does anyone have any opinions on where I could go to get this repaired in the boston area? I would scan in a picture, but I don't want to cause any heart attacks...the damage isn't pretty. Thanks for any help. Joe
SW03ES Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Honestly? You get what you pay for. Maaco will do a crappy job because thats what they do, crappy paint jobs that are cheap. Why are you coming out of pocket for this repair? I would contact the local DOT or in the least it should be a comprehensive claim, a hit and run that shouldn't change your rates.
SKperformance Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Agreed , the local district will be able to set up payment for damges to private proprty caused by public or contracted vehicles. Also make sure you file a police report.
