Ok I would appreciate some feedback, if possible, on paint reliability.

Does anyone have any information about which paint holds up the best in the long term? The two that I am trying to decide between are Silver or Black.

I live in the Southwest so snow really is not a factor. We do not have harsh winters so salts, solvents, etc. are not on the roadway. We also do not get a tremendous amount of rain. The only thing that we do get plenty of is sunshine and wind!

The vehicle will be garage kept.

My wife has a 2007 IS 250 with Black Sapphire Pearl (fancy name for dark blue) and the environmentally friendly paint is chipping off the front bumper and hood. She bought some sort of extra warranty but Lexus is not going to cover the repairs. Good luck with yours.

Silver will always hold up better than Black and its alot less maintenance.

Ok thank you for the responses and reassurance.

Ron6437 I am sorry that your wifes paint is peeling and I hope that Lexus will do what is right and repair it!

TheGman thank you for reaffirming my suspicions.
