Hey all,

Sadly, as of Saturday I am no longer a Lexus owner. I got my 94 es300 when I was 17 and 6'1". Now I'm 22 and 6'3" and I just didn't fit anymore. After dropping a transmission, I made the move. First thing I did was go to my dealer where they had some es330s to look at. I tried sitting in one and had maybe an inch of headroom with the seat all the way down and the seat leaned back. There was just no way I could drive one comfortably. I tried to es350 and it was just as bad. I even hopped in an RX300 and it was too small. I'm sure the bigger model RX would have worked, but the only Sedan they had that worked was an LS, which is very disappointing in my book. The LS drives great, but it's not a car for a 22 year old, maybe when I'm in my 40's it'll work.

So, sadly, I started looking around at other names and landed on an Acura of all things. The new car is pretty awesome- an 05 Acura RL. It's got so many bells and whistles on it and it drives great. I'm betting that some of that great Japanese engineering will be in there like it was with the Lexus.

I'll miss the Lexus a lot, that es300 was amazing. I just wish that Toyota would realize that in the states not everyone is 5'10".

Cheers.

I had the same problem, however I'm not as tall as you are so I just lived with it. Once in a while I could feel my hair bush against the headliner, I was more annoying that uncomfortable. I just recently got an 04 RX330 and I have plenty of headroom in that.

I have a 1998 GS300 and am 6'4" and am very comfortable, I once owned a 1989 Camry and fit in that car well also.............. Take your wallet out of your back pocket :lol::lol:

The driver's door is where wallet's go haha. I'm glad the GS worked for you. I never sat in one because I read they were even shorter. Regardless, there just has to be more headroom in these things. This trend of elongating the car and shortening the cabin is getting annoying. You almost have to get an SUV if you are tall, which is too bad, because I much prefer a sedan.

I'm loving my new Acura though. I just wish it had the same name recognition as a Lexus. Definately had to pay Lexus pricing though,.

Acura's are great too, I am a Lexus owner and i worked at a Acura dealership. I ES300 too but my next car would either be between another Lexus or Acura for sure!

There's just something about the "Big Three" in Japan. Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus are comfortable, solid and fun cars. I drove my 94 es300 from Jan 04 until now with no problems whatsoever until the Transmission went out. I bet it could run another five years with a little work. It had 82,000 miles on it when I started! It finished out at 135,000. That's a damn solid car.

I got this 2005 Acura RL for $18,500 with 43,000 miles on it. I expect that it will perform just as well as the Lexus did. And when it's day comes, you'd better believe I'll be looking at the Big Three again, starting with Lexus (Provided they put a few more inches of headroom in there).
