Lexus for life! Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Has anyone ever bought lights off ebay? are they worth buying since they are cheap? such as these ones? http://cgi.ebay.ca/Xenon-HID-Headlight-Com...%3A1|240%3A1318
1990LS400 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 It's false advertising. They are not HID bulbs. They are junk. Blue tinted bulbs almost always put out substantially less light than clear bulbs. Save your money and buy clear halogen bulbs for your car. There are some inexpensive clear bulbs that provide a little bit better light than regular bulbs -- Sylvania Xtravision and Wagner Britelite, for example. Here is a great website that discusses the blue bulb crap: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bu...ue/bad/bad.html
Bk4293 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 DDM Tuning's Website is very popular on the Ford Contour website I frequent. Plus for a bit extra they even offer a lifetime warranty.

Many of them - if not most of them - are as 1990LS400 said. JUNK. I bought my HID conversion kit more than a year ago from www.xenondepot.com in Ontario. You'll pay more than on flea-bay, but then, you get a QUALITY product with a reputable WARRANTY, and great customer service. And no, I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I just like their product, their level of service, and figure it is worth passing the name along. Steve, the owner of the business is also an official vendor at Club Lexus (dot com).

They're not HIDs in the link, just blue bulbs...
