  1. Common Sense Is Not Common

  2. If it's like our 2006, the grill is glued to the rear shelf. And to get the shelf out, you have to first fully remove the rear seats & back, then the shelf slides forward. There is a foam seal between the grill and the sub itself. I got a new Kicker 8" sub to replace the stock sub, and tore the seats out, and the shelf, just to find out that the stock sub bolt pattern isn't symetrical, so I have to make an adapter, probably out of 1/2" or 3/4" MDF. With bolt holes matching the new sub, and holes matching the stocker. Giant pain in the !Removed! IMHO.
  3. Hey Nick, I have less than 1/4 bottle of the EX-P left. I see that Poorboy's wants $17.95 for their 16oz bottle, if you ustill have yours, how much you want for it?
  4. I thought that's what it was called. I just wanted to know if there was something out there that would smooth the clearcoat out some. I'm not interested enough to break out the sander. Even with 3000 grit. !Removed! that noise.
  5. I guess he gave up on us. I see two Meguiars Gold Class Wax listed, for two different prices. Why? I do have a question about maybe using a leveler on our Lexus. Looking at the paint reflected in a HP light, I see that the clearcoat isn't exectly glass-smooth. It's clean & smooth, but not the perfect glass look. Almost looks like the surface of an orange. Hard to explain I guess. But would the levelers help "level" the clearcoat out?
  6. Hey Nick, what do you think of "Polycharger"? http://www.pakshak.com/polycharger.html I was looking for products similar to EX-P and came across this mix chart for it. http://www.pakshak.com/polycharger-wax-com...lity-chart.html From what I can tell by searching for EX-P's ingredients, this stuff looks to be the most similar, for cheaper. http://www.chemicalguys.com/Auto_Detailing...x_p/wac_110.htm
  7. When looking for stuff for our 2006 ES330 on eBay I have seen a few owners manuals listed. If I remember right, you can get the whole shebang for under $30.
  8. Well, a couple of weekends ago I set out to do the deed on our new (to us) 2006 ES330. I washed it thoroughly by hand, dried it and put it in the garage for the 3-step Claybar, cleaner, and Poorboy's EX-P treatment. I claybared it and let me tell you, there was a LOT of crap stuck to the paint. I could tell after washing it and running my hand over it. But the claybar did the trick. Smooth as a babys butt after. Then I hand-applied the Poorboy's W/Carnuba and used my trusty Craftsman buffer to take it off once hazed. I have never felt/seen a paint so beautiful afterward, but I knew I better finish the job with the Poorboy's EX-P. I applied the EX-P by hand, and it was strange that it seemed to soak into the paint more than the Cleaner/Carnuba. I needed about 50% more of the EX-P than the Cleaner/Carnuba. I guess the paint was really thirsty for some of this good stuff. After letting it dry for about an hour (and giving me a much needed rest). I fired up the buffer with a new bonnet on it and took to removing the EX-P. More of it seemed to stay on the paint than the Cleaner/Carnuba, which told me that the paint soaked most of it up, and that I'd be happy with it once done. After removing the EX-P with the buffer, I replaced the terry bonnet with a microfiber bonnet and went over the car once again to polish it to it's finest. Let me tell you, if you do this combo to your car, you will be rewarded with the finest depth/reflection you have ever seen. I am going to put another coat of the EX-P in a couple of weeks just to top off the polymers on the paint, but I would only suggest doing it only if you feel the need. I could get away without it for probably the rest of the year. Thank you Nick for the suggestion, and they did better than I could have imagined. And as soon as I do, if I am close to running out of either, I'll be looking to see if you still have either the Cleaner/Carnuba or the EX-P left. I am just a regular ES330 owner and have no affiliation to either Nick or Poorboy's, but they know their stuff about protecting your paint.
  9. I get a kick out of these places charging like $7.99/tire to switch over to Nitrogen. I lowered each tire to 35psi, only because I regularly run mine about 4-5psi over just for that little reduction in rolling resistance.
  10. Ok, so last weekend we bought our CPO 2006 ES330. Last night I decided to check out some things (oil level, tranny, tires, etc). Each tires had the "Nitrogen Filled" valve caps, but when I checked the pressure, each tire was filled between 36-37psi (tires cold). The spec calls for 30psi in each. Why would the dealer overfill each tire? I dropped each one to 35psi, but I still can't even think of why? Do you have to overfill because of the Nitrogen? Should I drop them to the recommended 30psi? In all my vehicles I like to run them 2-3psi over recommended, but 6-7psi seems ridiculous. Any suggestions? Thanx
  11. Hey all, I don't know if it's been covered before or not, but on my 06 ES330 it has 17x8(?) wheels (215/55-17 tires) and I was thinking about finding some cheap OEM 18" tires&wheels to use until I find some aftermarket ones I like. But I need to know what models of Lexus' use 18" wheels that won't cause clearance problems. Preferably using 225/45-18 tires (maybe even 235's) Don't the IS's have 18" wheels? Thanks in advance... Pat
  12. So for the clay bars, I do a great wash job, then use the bar? Then the polish/cleaner, then the EX-P. Do I have that right? And can/should I use a buffing machine with the cleaner & EX-P?
  13. That's ok. If I like it, then I'll buy what you have left (and probably more than I should). Deal?
  14. Crap, I was looking on their site and adding things up, and the wife accidently ordered it. It's costing me $45 for 2 bottles (polish and EX-P) dammitdammitdammit. That's what I get for going to their site and leaving it up. Sorry man.
  15. What kind of cleaner do you suggest? And do you have any in stock? Also, for the polymer (Poorboy's EX-P) and cleaner (if you have it), what would you want for those (the whole lot of 16oz and partial gallons)? Lastly, will any clay bar work, or is there a heirarchy there also?
  16. Would you suggest using anything different for me living in Las Vegas? Our summers here get 115+ degrees. If you have anything in stock that you would suggest for the climate, and on a Silver 2006 ES330, I'll buy it. Also, I have never been able to get wax off of rubber/plastic trim (like the bed rail covers on our 2004 F-150). How the frick do you get the wax out of the textured plastic?
