hothummer
I am due for my 15,000km checkup and wondered if I had to go to the dealer to do it to preserve my warranty? I lease the car and don't want to get nailed at return time if I haven't followed the recommended maintenance schedule. I have a private mechanic who does the work for 1/2 the price of the dealer and I trust him 100%. Paying Lexus to check the pads, fluid levels, etc at $120/hr for labor is insane. At 15k, I presume all I need is an oil change.. Thanks
bartkat
All you need to do is get it done or do it yourself and keep the receipts.
Raife
Yup, they told me to just keep all the records and I will be fine. they told me that the second service will be $180 at the stealer. I believe the maint is required every 16,000 km, from what they told me.
hothummer
Seems that the 16k maintenance is an oil change and a bunch of inspections... I would rather pay my mechanic $40 for an OEM filter/oil change and get him to inspect everything for free than get *BLEEP*ed by the stealer for $180...
