pete rock Posted February 25, 2009 Share Posted February 25, 2009 hi i need rear struts for my 93 es300.i have alocal junkyardnearby that charge around $12 per strut but i have to remove them myself.my question is how difficult is this??i think the strut mount screws are on the inside of the car over the rear seats.i know how to remove the rear seats.i take them out remove all the bolts from the strut mounts then what how many other screws are there?from around the wheel and axles on the rear ends.if its not too difficult i will do this to save some money.to install them i might just have a good friend whos a mechanic do it.any and all help is greatly appreciated. lenore Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 Three screws on top and one large bolt for the bottom that pinches the strut into the axle carrier. There is also a brake line bolt. Question are they giving you the entire strut assembly with spring? If not you would have to compress the spring to remove the strut shock itself...
