2005 Ls 430 Ultra With Ml Navi

I was wondering if the 2005 LS430 with the ML navi can play a DVD? I know that newer models ML navis will allow you to play and watch a DVD (factory setting is allowing this feature in park with e brake on), but I wasnt sure if my 2005 model will allow this?

If so, do I insert the DVD thru the CD changer or thru the navi cd-rom in the trunk?

Please advise. Thanks.

The Nav DVD player will not play DVD video. In fact, some people have had issues with their nav after trying it. I would not recommend messing with the Nav player.

Newer models are designed to run DVD format discs and their use is specified in their owners manuals. I suspect your LS is too early to utilize DVD playback. Lexus is always a bit behind in the techy side of things. :(

The DVD drive is a DVD-Rom drive so it won't play regular DVDs.

However in Japan the JDM Celsior was sold with a DVD player option; it might be possible to replace the ML CD player with something that plays DVDs.

You might still be locked out when the car is moving but I have seen someone plug a DVD player into a Gen II GS430 Nav system and have it work. DCFISH might be able to help you out.
