pauljcl
Can anyone tell me where the sensor is that triggers the automatic wipers. With bits of snow/ice around my windshield I noticed that it goes on when it totally doesn't need to I would suspect behind the rearview mirror (where it is on my BMW). The sensor works by measuring 'reflection': when the windshield is clear, it has a certain amount of reflectance, when the water drops are on it, the reflectance changes and the wipers are triggered. On the RX350 (and on the BMW), you can adjust the sensitivity. Try doing that, or otherwise do not use the 'automatic' setting when the conditions are such that is 'fooled'. tex2670
It's a little square box behind the mirror. If you rub your finger on it while it's in auto, it will activate.
fredw1
I find this "feature" to be pretty worthless. I want normal intermittent wipers back.
tex2670
I find this "feature" to be pretty worthless. I want normal intermittent wipers back. I've found it to work pretty well. But there's no way I'd pay for it as a standalone option.
